Wendy Burnham is an advocate for human trafficking awareness, community educator, speaker, artist, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Serenity Shore Coffee.

Driven by faith and a desire to create lasting change, Wendy has dedicated her work to educating communities about human trafficking, protecting vulnerable individuals, and supporting organizations that help survivors find freedom, healing, and hope.

Through public speaking, community outreach, awareness initiatives, and Serenity Shore Coffee's mission-driven business model, Wendy works to equip families, churches, civic organizations, and businesses with the knowledge they need to recognize trafficking, protect children, and become part of the solution.

My Story

For more than a year, I prayed for victims and survivors of human trafficking and asked God how I could help make a difference.

Like many people, I knew human trafficking existed, but the more I learned, the more I realized how widespread the problem had become—not only around the world but here in our own communities.

As I continued to pray and seek direction, God began opening doors that eventually led my husband Richard and me to launch Serenity Shore Coffee.

What started as a simple idea became a mission.

Today, Serenity Shore Coffee exists to help fund organizations fighting human trafficking while educating communities about prevention, awareness, rescue, and restoration.

The name Serenity Shore represents our belief that every survivor deserves the opportunity to reach a place of freedom, healing, peace, and hope.

Human Trafficking Awareness & Community Education

One of my greatest passions is helping people understand the realities of human trafficking and how to recognize warning signs before exploitation occurs.

Human trafficking is often misunderstood. Most victims are not kidnapped by strangers. Instead, traffickers frequently use manipulation, grooming, emotional dependency, false promises, and online relationships to gain control over vulnerable individuals.

Before launching Serenity Shore Coffee, Wendy built a successful career as an artist and creative entrepreneur.

As founder of In The Light Artistry, she created custom artwork, paintings, murals, glass art, wood art, and commissioned pieces for clients throughout the region.

Her artistic background continues to influence her work today, bringing creativity, storytelling, and purpose into every project she touches.
